Terry Widner carved this spreader from a single piece of walnut, the handle a standing figure rendered in full: rounded head, shoulders, back and chest, waist narrowing to hips, an d from there the blade sweeps out and away where the legs would be. The walnut's open grain runs the full length, warm and dark, as if the wood always had this shape inside it. Those same curves that give the figure its form make the handle one of the most comfortable things to hold at the table. In a large, versatile form that spreads as well as it stands on a cheese board, or holds its own on a shelf. Light enough to forget you're holding it. One of a kind. Show more
