The Hearthguards represent the epitome of dwarven warfare. Armed with an axe anda shield, the traditional weapons of Mounthaven, they are the last line of defence forthe dwarven st rongholds. Thus, they rarely engage in combat, but when they do, theyexhibit a level of martial skill that is above what most of their enemies have everwitnessed. With the beginning of the Last War, the Hearthguard were authorised to participatein Mounthaven's offensive actions. These warriors are becoming a more commonsight on the battlefield for this reason.
