Warkworth Castle Print 0051 Warkworth Castle is a ruined medieval building in the Northumbrian village of the same name. Both village and castle sit in a loop of the River Coquet, less than a mile from England's north-east coast. I chose what I thought was an unusual viewpoint for my painting- only to discover later that JMW Turner had also painted it several times from this very same stretch of the Coquet down near the coast .
