Designed for use in studio applications, the Warm Audio WA-14 is a microphone with three selectable polar patterns including omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8. It’s a suitable mic for capturing sources as various as vocals, drum overheads, acoustic guitars, amplifiers, and more. This large-diaphragm condenser gives you a 1” capsule constructed out of brass. This Lens Kondensator design is edge-terminated, sputtered in 24kt gold, and emulative of the vintage CK-12 (a classic and dependable mic). Utilizing fully discrete circuitry, the diaphragm is skinned with 6-micron Japanese Mylar for good measure. The microphone sports a balanced XLR connection, as well as a custom CineMag output transformer manufactured in the United States. In addition to its switchable polar patterns, the microphone provides two different pads, allowing you to use the WA-14 with sources of higher and higher SPLs—all the way to 150 dB with the pad set to -20 dB. The WA-14 ships with a hard mount and shockmount.
