The Warm Audio WA-47F is a recreation of the legendary U47 FET large-diaphragm condenser microphone capturing the same uncompromising and detailed sound. The Warm Audio WA-47F swap s the tube for a solid-state FET, allowing for the handling of loud sources with a rich midrange and detailed bass. The Warm Audio WA-47F uses a single backplate version of the premium K47-style capsule employed in the WA-47 and has a cardioid-only polar pattern. This is followed by a custom TAB-Funkenwerk output transformer that delivers the punchy and powerful sound provided by the capsule. In lieu of a tube, the WA-47F uses two premium Fairchild FETs with polystyrene and Wima capacitors, delivering the ideal frequency response, detail and depth. For particularly loud sources, a -10dB pad is provided, giving extra headroom while a 140Hz high-pass filter removes unwanted bass frequencies on sources like guitars, vocals and more.
