This piece was specially handcrafted in her studio, as part of the Mixed Voyage Exhibition for The Geelong Design Week 2021.The Mixed Voyage is an Upcycled collection inspired by city shapes, using preloved materials, to highlight the importance of Slow fashion nowadays, and how architecture, design, and fashion are correlated. This edgy piece features a cool lettering print designed by Noe, which reflects his passion for lettering for over 20 years as graphic creator. It also features a reversible design with a stunning preloved velvet skirt on the other side, you can actually see how Fernanda kept the back pockets and the zipper stitching from its previous life. Fernanda Covarrubias sources all her fabrics from preloved quality pieces and deadstock, so you are not only saving textiles from landfills, you are getting a unique piece of wearable art.
