A year ago, I received an email from Jake Kenobi: “Hi Jason! I absolutely love that your line is all amazing artist collabs. I’m an Illustrator & Artist out of Bend, OR. It’d be am azing to create a J Collab for upcoming skis.” I clicked the link to his portfolio, loved his work, and a year later… BOOM! We made it happen! Jake's creative career ignited during college, doodling in his notebooks bored during class. Those sketches quickly evolved, and he ditched the traditional career path for the world of art. I love his style—it’s like a party of quirky characters and wild tropical scenes, mixing nostalgia and humor that keeps you wanting more. Together, we cherry-picked a variety of his characters and elements and arranged them throughout the length of the ski. We created lots of variations until we found the awesome layout you see here. There are plenty of small hidden details for you to discover during future chairlift rides—enjoy! Interesting fact: Jake's themes come straight from his own experiences with depression and anxiety. His goal is to reduce stigma and instill a sense of solidarity and connection with people experiencing his work. I made only 300 pairs of these new Limited Edition graphics on “The Vacation” ski and hand-signed and numbered each.
