Charter members of the????????Arena Football League (AFL), the Washington Commandos were established in 1987. They played in the league's inaugural barnstorming season before takin g the 1988 season off. They returned in 1989 as the Maryland Commandos and played their home games at the Cap Centre. They moved to Fairfax, VA, and went back to using Washington in their name, for the 1990 season and folded at the end of that campaign. Show more
