Rock and revolution in 70s Zimbabwe. 11 tracks of Zimbabwean heavy rock by the scenes forefront ensemble. As the hippie era came to an end in the US, a second '60s was beginning in what is now Zimbabwe: young, Black Zimbabweans created a rock counterculture that drew inspiration from flower power, and the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Deep Purple. The kids in the scene called their music heavy because they could feel it's impact; the country was called Rhodesia then, one of the last bastions of White colonialism in Africa. Zimbabwe's Black rockers defied segregation laws and secret police to make a stand for democratic change. Wells Fargo's "Watch Out!" was the anthem of the counterculture. This is the first time the band's music has been issued outside of Zimbabwe.
