I painted this duo — Waters Edge and Morning Mist — as an abstract homage to waking up on crisp mornings at my family Lakehouse. It’s a humble chalet, but the view of the still morning lake never ever gets old. I added all sorts of texture with salt, charcoals and pastels as a nod to all the life that exists below the surface. Layered washes of blues and greens and loads of texture give Waters Edge an airy, meaningful feel despite it being abstract in nature. I added all of the line work as a nod to the channels of lakes that connect to ours, one delightful body of water leading to another. A beautiful piece for serene, thoughtfully curated spaces, and perfect if you’re creating a coastal-inspired space. (Pair it with its counterpart or display it on its own. You can also hang it horizontally if you’d like to display it over a sofa or a bed).
