Clearance Price | RRP $25 Watkins Wines is an innovative, family-run South Australian winery spearheaded by a dynamic sibling trio. Championing sustainability across their estate vineyards, they focus on crafting fresh, modern, and highly approachable wine styles. The maritime influence at their Langhorne Creek vineyard, with afternoon sea breezes allows fruit flavours to evolve without excessive sugar production. The 2024 Watkins Grenache Rosé was produced using the French Saignée technique; bleeding juice from Grenache early in production for a lighter wine. The result fills out the mid palate using ripe fruit flavours, while being bone dry. Balancing out less than 2g/L of natural fruit sugar with crisp acidity, here is a Rosé ready to be enjoyed now. "A pale coral hue in the glass, the wine opens with blood orange and cranberries. A spray of ruby grapefruit soda and cherry blossom. The perfume of Grenache really speaks here with some strawberries creaminess mid palate, a lick of summer berries and finishing dry. A touch of oatmeal on the finish. A great little wine for fresh salmon sushi. Drink now. 91 Points. $25. Drink by: 2025-2026"- Shanteh Wale, Wine Pilot. "An attractive pale copper pink with lots of spice and red berries on the nose and palate. Some watermelon comes to the fore, and there’s a slip of texture plus juicy acidity to close. Nice one. 90 Points. 12.5% alc. Drink: 2025 - 2026. Screwcap"- Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion.
