Flow Glass | Glass Wave Coaster: This gorgeous coaster is made from two sheets of glass fused together with coloured frit, to create this image inspired by the sea and waves that surround the Island of Orkney. It comes in a little organza bag and has feet on the bottom to protect your surfaces and stop it from sliding. These little hangers are all made in Fiona Cooper's Kirkwall studio in Orkney, and look amazing when they catch the light. (Length: 10.0cm; Width: 10.0cm; Height: 1.0cm) (Glass) Who are Flow Glass? Fiona Cooper spent years buying and selling products for Aurora Jewellery, run by her husband Stephen Cooper, in Orkney. While there, she worked with a number of talented artists, and the experience inspired her to try and forge something of her own. At the Laldie Haans craft festival in 2016, Fiona had her first taste of fused glass work. Then, after a weekend course in 2017, Fiona decided it was time to purchase a kiln to start experimenting with this art form on her own. She has since expanded her skills and knowledge, erecting a studio in 2019, and working with her husband Steven and daughter Daisy to build Flow Glass. Today, Fiona and Steven create glass pieces inspired by the Orkney landscapes, especially the beaches, and have even included some sand from Scapa Beach in a few of their designs. The glass ornaments they craft make stunning mementos, sculptural pieces and reflect light in interesting and colourful ways.
