The Waves SGRCK is the core of Waves’ integration with the Avid VENUE | S6L mixing console, designed for demanding live sound environments. It allows front-of-house, monitor, and broadcast engineers to run SoundGrid-compatible plug-ins directly within the S6L, providing tactile control through the console’s surface knobs. This eliminates the need for an external computer host or network switch, simplifying setup while maintaining professional-grade performance. By offloading plug-in processing from the VENUE console engine to a separate SoundGrid DSP server (sold separately), the software dramatically increases processing power while keeping system latency to a minimum. Engineers can run up to 128 mono or 64 stereo SoundGrid Rack instances at 96 kHz, with up to eight SoundGrid-compatible plug-ins per instance. All standard VENUE plug-in features remain fully supported, including Config and Show modes, delay compensation, snapshot automation, and complete tactile control of plug-in parameters. For added reliability in live sound applications, the system can be configured with a second SoundGrid DSP server to provide redundancy and automatic failover protection. This ensures uninterrupted performance even in the event of a server failure, making the SoundGrid Rack for VENUE a robust and flexible solution for professional live audio production.
