Wax Worms are soft-bodied, thin-skinned feeder insects that make a highly palatable treat for many reptiles, amphibians, birds, and other insect-eating pets. Because wax worms are naturally high in fat and energy, they are best offered as an occasional treat rather than as a primary staple feeder. They are often used by breeders to help add weight to animals that need additional calories. Wax worms are also an extremely popular live fishing bait, particularly for trout, perch, panfish, and ice fishing.
