About Weedy Zine: Phragmites australis, or common reed, is a tall perennial grass often seen along wetlands, lakeshores, and in the ditches along urban highways. In many parts of N orth America, it is labelled an invasive species because of its ability to spread aggressively and displace other plants. In this conversation, we look at Phragmites australis as an entryway, a portal, and a meeting point for us to locate ourselves through shifting geographies.
