The WOD Front Axle Truss Bump Stop Pads provide a strong, flat landing surface for hydraulic bump stops and air bumps on custom front suspension systems. Designed to integrate directly with the Wide Open Design Dana 60 Front Axle Truss, these weld-on pads can also be adapted to many aftermarket Dana 60, GM 14-Bolt, and fabricated axle trusses with a compatible mounting profile. Each pad is precision laser cut from 3/8" high-strength steel to withstand repeated suspension impacts without bending or deforming. By eliminating the need to hand-cut individual strike plates, these pads save fabrication time while providing a consistent surface for properly positioning and engaging the bump stops. A hydraulic or air bump applies concentrated impact force at the end of suspension travel. A properly sized landing pad spreads that force across the axle truss instead of allowing the bump stop to strike a thin or uneven surface. Why are these pads made from 3/8" steel? The 3/8" plate provides the strength and impact resistance needed for repeated hard suspension compression. Thinner material may bend, cup, or deform over time, which can create inconsistent bump engagement. Why is a flat strike surface important? The bump stop should contact the landing pad as squarely as possible. A flat, properly aligned pad helps reduce side loading on the bump shaft and creates more predictable suspension behavior during hard compression. How should the pads be positioned? Position the pads only after the axle, suspension links, shocks, tires, and bump stops have been mocked up.
