Peter BialobrzeskiNeon Tigers – Photographs of Asian MegacitiesPeter Bialobrzeski (*1961, Wolfsburg) lives and works in Hamburg. 1988–93 studied at the Folkwangschule in Essen; 199 1–92 further studies at the London College of Printing; 1997 membership of the DFA (Deutsche Fotografische Akademie – German Academy of Photography). He has been a professor of Photography at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen since 2002. In addition to his activities as an independent art photographer, he also works on assignment for national and international periodicals, agencies and businesses. In his photographs of the metropolitan centers of the Asian Tiger States, Peter Bialobrzeski creates an image of a seemingly utopian megacity that has nothing in common with the familiar structures of old European cities. We feel almost like characters in Blade Runner and are reminded of SimCity, a computer game in which a virtual metropolis is simulated through a chain of causal links.Peter Bialobrzeski has chosen a captivating motif from Shenzhen China for the Collector’s Edition—a view of the new housing development on Cattlan Road from the Grand View Hotel.Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
