The scanned motif of the climbing hydrangea (Hydrangea petiolaris), digitally captured in high resolution and printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper, is one of media artist Achim Mohné's experiments with the medium of the scanner since 2000. In this way, the artist draws attention to the ethical and ecological contexts of current debates on sustainability. In addition to images such as magnolia (Magnolia) or woodruff (Galium odoratum), which are among the locally found plants that are processed into dishes by chefs and eaten by the audience during the performances, the artist also includes plants in his book project DI_GI_TA_LIS, which, like the poisonous foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) or the climbing hydrangea (Hydrangea petiolaris), have been used as mind-expanding substances and canabis substitutes in psychoactive, intoxicating experiments in order to expand the interdisciplinary discourse on their use to other areas such as medicine or psychology.
