Grab your digital gauge in your free hand and open the jaws wide enough to fit on either side of the outside of the band and then close the jaws around your ring band and record the millimeter measurement of the band. When doing this, only remove a small amount from the side of the ring guard at a time to ensure it won’t be too small when you are done. Step 3 Turn the ring and ring guard on its side so you can grip the ring guard in one hand and the top of the ring in your other. Gently pull the ring and the ring guard in opposite directions so that the band will fit into place in the ring guard. If the ring guard is being stubborn, you can wiggle the ring a little until it slips into place. Then slide the ring guard around the inside of the band until it is in the correct position for you. Step 4 Once you have positioned the plastic ring guard, you’ll need to try your ring on. If your ring still doesn’t fit – it may be too big still or too small, you can remove the ring guard and try on a different version plastic guard and check the fit again. Finished!
