The Eyelighter 3 by Westcott is an exceptional reflector that incorporates reversible silver/black and sunlight/white materials. Three fabric surfaces are provided for the purpose of reflecting studio or ambient light, along with a black fabric option for light blocking. The process of changing the fabrics is straightforward, as the reversible white/sunlight fabric can be easily stacked on the silver base fabric using hook-and-loop tape. Among these options, silver is the most favored fabric due to its unique appearance. It generates a highly specular light that effectively fills in nearly all shadows beneath the chin and nose, resulting in a pronounced highlight in the eyes. The white fabric, on the other hand, offers a gentle, subtle fill while preserving some shadows under the chin and nose, thereby enhancing the dimensionality of the subject's face. The eye highlights produced with this fabric are less intense and appear more natural. The sunlight fabric, characterized by its slightly warmer tones, also creates a specular light. The combination of gold and silver materials imparts a warm glow to skin tones, making it particularly suitable for subjects with brown and green eyes. The Eyelighter 3 features a tiltable support spine that can be attached to a standard light stand. With a tilting range of 74°, it enables precise control over the light's direction.
