Asclepias speciosa This fuzzy leaved perennial plant is native throughout the West and Upper Midwest in the US. It is drought tolerant and is less aggressive in spreading so it makes a great addition to any garden! It produces fragrant rosy pink flower clusters; sometimes can be purple or green. It attracts many beneficial bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds along with being a host for Monarch Butterflies. Historically used by many tribes for fiber, most notably is also still used for fiber by the Tewa and the Zuni of the Pueblo people.
