This Gas Range Surface Igniter provides spark to the burner to ignite the gas and initiate the cooking process. This igniter features a spark electrode with a male spade connection . If your range’s igniter is no longer providing a spark to light the burner, the wire may be shorted out or the porcelain casing may be cracked. Replacing the igniter may alleviate these issues. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience.
