Artist Reflections Standing with my camera and tripod amidst this blissful field, I listen to the whispering of the grasses as they gently sway in the wind. The soothing sound insp ires a feeling of gratefulness as I ponder their miraculous nature. These grains will eventually produce a loaf of bread on which we recite the blessing: "Blessed are You Hashem, Master of the Universe, who brings forth bread from the ground." We recognize where the bread came from, beginning as just a seed in the ground, transformed through a partnership between Hashem and man to become nourishment for our bodies and souls. To me, this is the power of the Land of Israel; it is a land where the revelation of Hashem is made clear through the work of man, a revelation to be found even amidst the whispers of the field.
