Landscape depicting a Swedish farm. Oil on canvas by Gustaf Edwall (1902-1984). Signed and dated 1939. Framed 102 x 81 cm. This piece would be perfect above a mantlepiece over a fi replace. Gustaf Edwall studied at the Art Academy in Stockholm from 1926-1933, and later in Paris. Edwall was a Jenny Lindh scholarship holder. His art consists of still life, portraits, figures and landscapes of Swedish and French origin. Edwall is represented at the National History Museum in Stockholm, Jamtli and Hudiksvall Art Museum.
