HIPS, High Impact Polystyrene, is a tough, rigid plastic material with high impact strength which can be guillotined, punched or sawn easily. HIPS is a thermoplastic meaning variou s shapes and objects can be produced from this material using a vacuum former and can be useful for mould making. The thickness of the material needed is dependant on the form you are looking to make and it is worth taking advice from the relevant RCA technician if you are unsure.
