White Label Silver is an original painting using Montana spray paint and acrylics on 12" X 12", 240 gsm textured paper. It comes signed and stamped, with a window mount and backing board. White label records are an integral part of dance music history which I find fascinating. Produced in small amounts, DIY artists could sell them at record stores or send them to DJs to promote their music. Record companies like WARP sometimes started out using white labels only to provide the most cutting edge music to pirate radio stations and stores. These paintings are a homage to that gritty, do-it-yourself attitude. Simple and direct. Note: This painting uses a metallic silver paint which looks different under changing light. It can look brighter or duller depending on how light catches it.
