White Marseilles is a light, honey fig. The medium sized figs are round in shape. They are covered in bright green skin when ripe, with few blemishes to the stunning green color. Inside, the pulp is light amber in color. While some classify this as a standard honey fig with sweet caramel flavor, others note a lighter texture that more closely resembles agave. The skin is good for eating and its touch of bitterness balances out the sweetness of the honey flavor. White Marseilles produces both a breba and a main crop of medium sized figs. The trees have 3- and 5-lobed leaves that are rough to the touch. This variety is said to have good rain resistance and is cold hardy in a variety of climates. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
