How To Care Be sure to select the right location for your Rose bush. Planting Time: Any time of the year, taking care to avoid the most extreme temperatures in winter and summer. Sun: Full to part sun Soil: Adaptable, but not overly sandy. Well drained Watering: Water in well when planting. Keep soil moist for the first month. Once established, allow soil to dry before watering. Fertilizing: Slow release fertilizer twice per year in early spring and again in summer. Pruning: Drift and Knockout Roses do not require pruning. However, pruning can help maintain vigor and strength as well as encourage better blooming.
