DITCH THAT DANGEROUS “FIN” SENSOR!TURN YOUR e-FAN ON AND OFF AT YOUR DESIRED TEMPERATURE!2-SPEED CAPABLE WHEN USED WITH DUAL OR DUAL-WINDING FANS!“Fin” and “inline” temperature senders can be just plain dangerous, letting a thermostat failure or coolant blockage disable your electric fan just when your engine needs it most. The FDM2 makes that a thing of the past, letting you use your existing temperature sensor to control the relays for your electric fan. Because it learns your sensor's voltage, you can also set the trip temperature for whatever your engine likes best, not a preset value that may clash with your thermostat temperature. It has two outputs and two memories to support either 1-speed or 2-speed operation, and selectable 2~16% hysteresis to prevent relay jitter and support non-temperature applications like electric brake booster pumps. There's also an override pin which can connect directly to most A/C clutches, to force the fan on whenever the compressor runs. It can drive as many as three standard “Bosch Box” relays per channel, and even has a 5V reference pin for powering DIY and 3-wire sensors. Like all WM products it's perfectly comfortable living in the engine box, and it's IP66 weatherproof if you seal the DIP switches with a dab of RTV. Keep your engine and fan on the same page, it's easy!
