Such a pretty blossoming tree, that fills the hedgerows at springtime with a mass of white flowers.Small reddish cherry fruit is produced in the autumn. Growing Conditions:Prefers fertile woodland soils but tolerates clay as well. Shallow rooting. Value To Wildlife:Flowers are great for bees and insects and the fruit is an excellent food source for a variety of birds. Important Note:This is a deciduous tree and so will shed its leaves in autumn, in order to protect itself from the cold winter weather.
