About the design What makes Helen Ahpornsiri's artwork extraordinary is how it's created — every image is composed from real, hand-pressed plants. Based in East Sussex, she grows, forages and presses ferns, wildflowers and seaweed — much of which she grows in her own garden — then arranges each pressed specimen into intricate designs. Here, that painstaking technique forms a hare from a whole meadow's worth of blooms and foliage. Her practice is guided by a simple principle: always to contribute more than I take. That original artwork is then printed onto Wildflower Hare's soft tissue — something you can wrap with, line a keepsake box, or simply keep for its own sake.
