During 1982 William Brice completed a series of brilliantly colored drawings on four by six inch notecards. Subsequently he mounted forty-eight of these drawings in a notebook in o rder that he might later refer to them for compositional detail in his large-scale paintings. Notations 1982 reproduces Brice's notebook in full color and to scale. The forty-eight drawings are reproduced just as the artist composed them in his original notebook.
