Artist: William Nicholson Author: Lillian Browse Publisher: Rupert Hart-Davis Date: 1956 Condition: A first edition hardback, complete with original dust wrapper over grey boards; the wrapper neatly clipped, a little sunning to the spine and some general handling marks and chips and nicks to the edges. Internally a very clean and tight copy, illustrated largely in black and white but with some colour plates. An unidentified book plate to the inside front cover. A very nice copy Lillian Browse was a good friend of WN and her 1956 biography and catalogue raisonne was a major landmark publication on the artist. Although there have been many subsequent books on him, it remains a very useful and accessible volume for anyone who is interested in his life and work. Show more
