Willow Bark, Salix alba, has long been used for pain, fevers, and inflammation. Its active compound, salicin, is the original source of the synthetic derivative aspirin. The action of white willow bark is much slower than that of the synthetic drug but is less likely to cause stomach problems. Willow takes about several hours before relief is felt. It generally works best at easing the pain when combined with other pain-relieving herbs. Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 mL (1 full dropper) up to 5 times per day as needed (unless otherwise directed) in a small amount of water, or drop under the tongue. Shake well.
