Artisan Cotton by Another Point of View is a cross-dyed "quilter's weight" cotton that acts as a solid but has more depth. Good saturated colours work as strong neutrals or on their own as garment fabrics. It's yarn dyed, so the colours in the name reflect the colours of the warp and weft fibres, giving the fabric a chambre effect - it's pretty awesome. I find these just a little bit heavier than most quilting cottons. They absolutely make beautiful quilts, but I would also strongly recommend considering them for garment sewing. They're just enough weight to make a great dress or tunic, and the colours are so gorgeous. Quilters may use from 3 to 6 colors in the palette to create their quilt. No other fabric, neutrals, etc. may be used on the quilt top or for the binding.
