Kristin Dickson-Okuda’s Window Dressing is another example of the artist’s playful curiosity in exploring the endless possibilities of materials and how they make the notion of “fu nctionality” a more expansive concept. Utilizing bracelet wire curtain rings, the dressing is composed of peach and apricot tulle, allowing for a dreamy transparency. Rejecting the “rules” of interior design and traditional window treatments, she instead “dresses” the window. As Dickson-Okuda always imbues her works with a sense of playfulness through anthropomorphism, she describes this work as one with “short bangs and long hair”.
