Side mirrors are always a challenge. No one wants to drill their fenders, especially on a fresh restoration. So a windshield post mirror is an excellent option, and here are two that will fit in the aft hold of your windshield frame. The brushed stainless looks better on racier modified cars, while our chrome mirror is appropriate for a more stock look. Both require no new holes in your bodywork! These are a helpful addition when it comes to driving in a populated space and need to see traffic in the land next to you! NOTE 1: These mirror studs are about 1/2 inch long after they pass through your windshield pillars. Many Sprites have had prior cowl bodywork so please confirm your cowl is not thickened by prior repairs. If your cowl has been modified or replaced, these may not fit because the stud may not be long enough for your particular car.To check, measure the thickness of your car between the windshield pilar face and the underside of the body where the nut normally lives. Remove ONE rear windshield to body screw and nut and insert a probe to define the thickness. Measure that probe penetration-if more than 1/2 inch, these will not fit. Our square post mirrors have longer studs and are another option. NOTE 2: Sidecurtains will hit these mirrors when installed. If you regularly use sidecurtains on your car, try our motorcycle mirrors for better results. Alternatively, you can fit a spacer plate as shown, which is what I have used successfully on my own car fitted with a hardtop and sidecurtains.
