This tote will hold a “standard” 750 ml wine bottle; “standard” being about 12” (30 cm) tall. The top opening is narrow to ensure that if the zipper is not fully closed, the bottle will not fall out. It also means that the best way to insert the bottle is neck first. BUT, if your intended bottle is taller - say 13” (33 cm) - you can accommodate that by adding a bit of extra width at the fold line. If you use canvas and are handy with paint, brush, stamps or stencils then consider customizing your tote with your own motif or theme. The lining can be made from quilting cotton. You can add optional fusible fleece or an Insul Brite-like product for an insulating factor. Fabric choices can take it up a notch—try cork, leather, vinyl, waxed or hand-painted canvas. A bottom panel and/or hardware can be added and, of course, a wine charm is a logical embellishment for gift giving.
