The first version of this quilt was commissioned by my golf-loving man. He was to attend the ‘Barnbougle Beanie,’ referring to both the golf course and the weather conditions - headwarmers obligatory! Every year knitted beaniez have been made and auctioned and donated to cancer patients. My man wanted to do more, and so I designed the Winter Beaniez block and duly made and donated the quilt. Version two is made in the same setting but with a different colourway. I’ve used the loudest of prints teamed with wild stripes. Colourful and wildly warming. There are instructions for three block sizes. My sample was made with 10” blocks but there are also 8” and 6“ versions. I’d love to make a small and gentle baby quilt - perfect for giving - but I imagine more “ beaniez” quilts will likely be made in the colours of sporting teams!
