This does the opposite. It toughens the grass up and keeps colour through winter. Iron-free, so no orange staining on paths or drives. Safe for kids and pets when used as directed. The science bit Nitrogen (6% N): Kept low on purpose. Just enough to hold colour over winter without forcing the soft top growth that struggles in the cold. Phosphorus (8% P): Feeds root development. Top growth slows right down in winter, but roots keep working away below the surface, and a stronger root system now sets the lawn up for spring. Potassium (10% K): The one doing the heavy lifting here. It strengthens the plant's cell walls and improves tolerance to frost, cold and disease. In plain English, it's the grass equivalent of putting a coat on before heading outside. Magnesium (4% MgO): Sits at the centre of the chlorophyll molecule, which is what keeps grass green. It holds colour through the dull months when most lawns go pale.
