Wire are one of the greatest post-punk/art-rock bands of all time. Period. And the first three albums released between 1977 and 1979 [Pink Flag, Chairs Missing and 154] are accepte d by most as their very best work. Pink Flag is their 1977 debut album; a formative, pathbreaking record for its time and often cited as being highly influential to many artists since. Though Pink Flag wasn’t particularly a hit upon release, it retrospectively came to be acknowledged as a seminal album and pivotal release of the post-punk period.
