Horizon is the one cable in this collection that is not built on Wireworld’s DNA Helix architecture, and we would rather tell you that than let the brand name imply otherwise. It uses a different, simpler construction Wireworld calls Flexi-Flat, with plain PVC insulation instead of Composilex. It carries no generation number because it sits outside the numbered Series 10 hierarchy entirely. What it is instead is a solution to a specific, common problem. The cable is 1.4mm thick — Wireworld’s own comparison is the thickness of a dime — and 10mm wide. It lies flat under a rug, tucks along a skirting board, runs under a door and disappears behind furniture. If the alternative is a 10mm round cable coiled visibly across a living room floor, or no proper speaker cable at all, this is a genuinely useful thing to be able to buy. Underneath the flat profile it is 16AWG of oxygen-free copper: two conductors, twenty insulated strands, crimped to silver and gold plated contacts. Four terminations are offered — spade to spade, banana to banana, and both mixed — in five lengths from two to six metres, sold as a pair. Where it sits: at the bottom of the range on price, and outside the DNA Helix family on construction. Wireworld never uses the phrase entry level for it, and neither will we as though it were their words — but that is functionally where it sits. If concealment is not your problem, the Helicon 16x above it gets you the DNA Helix geometry and Composilex 5 insulation in a round 7mm cable. Wireworld is headquartered in Davie, Florida, but we could find no Made in USA claim for the cables themselves anywhere on their site — the only manufacturing statement we found concerns packaging, which they say is printed in the US. A head office is not a factory and we are not going to present it as one. Warranty: Wireworld publishes a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser, with damage from abuse or wear excluded. That is essentially the whole published policy — there is no itemised exclusions list, no claims procedure and no statement about transferability, though the phrase “to the original purchaser” implies it does not transfer.
