Ruth Beardsworth was born in Bremen, Germany where she trained as a screen printer before studying fine art in Britain. She graduated with a BA Fine Art from Preston Polytechnic in 1979 and MA Printmaking, from Manchester Polytechnic in 1980. She has worked at Printmaking at Gray’s School of Art and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. She was the winner of the Shell Expro Award in 1992 NS RGW Glasgow Print Studio Publication Award in 1996. This print is from the Hinterland folio.The brochure for the folio describes it as such:"The Hinterland folio presents eleven signed artists' prints, mixing traditional printmaking techniques with innovative digital print technology.
