This is a modified version of the WK Rescue Axe originally developed for United States Air Force PJ’s, with the changes based on extensive use in the field. The WK Rescue Axe Gen 4 is designed to cut through sheet metal, such as vehicles or downed aircraft, without hanging up. The spike end is used to punch a hole as a starting point for using the integral can opener on the end; the center hole in the head serves as a handle. A hook under the spike is used for extending the user’s reach for grabbing seat belts or harnesses. The 80CrV2 steel is effective for chopping metals and hard building materials. The WK Rescue Axe is a mobile extraction tool that can mean the difference in life and death at accident scenes or rescue environments.
