Commonly called "dyer's woad. Since ancient times, woad was grown and cultivated throughout Europe as a source for blue dye before being replaced with indigo. It is commonly believ ed the Picts would paint their bodies with blue woad dye before going into battle. **Our Woad is imported directly from Europe. This is a highly concentrated woad powder.
