Highly respected, the wolf is seen as having a great likeness to people, as they form family units, hunt in groups, and mate for life. They are considered wise, understanding, and steadfast. Some First Nation groups believe that great hunters are reincarnated as wolves. Graham Henry Graham Henry was born in 1970 in Duncan B.C. This area is representative of the Coast Salish Nation, a tribe that inhabits the southern region of British Columbia. Graham holds the Eagle, a prestigious and high-status symbol, as his crest. Graham learned carving from his brother, Travis Henry, as well as Patrick (Paddy) Seaweed, a well-regarded carver from Alert Bay. Graham’s carving style was greatly influenced by Patrick’s style. Graham is one of many Northwest Coast Native artists preserving the beautiful traditions of his ancestors. Show more
