Orange behind white Orange fills the disc behind this wolf, and that one decision is what makes the design carry. The animal is stitched almost entirely in white and pale silver, with black laid into the ruff and along the underside of the raised jaw. A light figure on a saturated ground holds its shape from across a room, in poor light, and on a moving sleeve. The pose, and what it is for The pose is the howl itself: chin lifted, throat stretched, jaws open on a small red tongue. Only the head, neck and chest are drawn, and the white fur of the ruff spills past the black rim at the foot of the circle, so the orange disc reads as something the wolf stands in front of rather than a frame around it.
