At the bottom of the rack is a pre-sanded clear wood base, great for a more natural esthetic feel. If you plan on storing any swallow-tail or fish-type boards with sharp bottoms, we recommend upgrading to a Grassy Surf Rack or Foamy Surf Rack, as these racks provide additional protection, as these fragile areas on swallow tails are notorious for getting dings.
