There are 2 side pockets, each with a zipper and a further pocket on the inside, also with a zipper. The hood is detachable by a hidden zip and is easy to attach or detach this way.***Please read this sizing advice and bear in mind these hoodies are very thick, lined with fleece and the sizing is not in keeping with standard men's sizes as they increase a size every 2 inches so if you usually wear a men's small, you will need a medium, if you usually wear a medium you'll need the large, if you usually wear a large but consider yourself a on the smaller side of large then the large will be fine, if you consider yourself at the upper end of the large scale you'll be best with the XL. If you usually wear XL please get the XL and if you usually wear 2XL you'll be best with the 2XL.
