Shiny lapels and pocket flaps echo shawl collar dinner jackets as worn by Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca. Signature overlap back seam construction is adapted from bib overalls design and the cuffs of Lee chore coats. Garment pigment dye fully dyes the cotton lining and sewing threads, but only subtly colours the nylon and wool fabrics.
